They Paved Paradise and Confessions of a Lost Blogger

Sometimes, we take pictures and don’t realize their significance until later…  Moments in time, moments that might never happen again, captured, preserved.  I’m so grateful for all the photos I’ve taken of the field around the corner from my house. The one I pass daily. The one that has taught me to look more closely, […]

That last photo is amazing it takes my breath away. I think blogging should not be about anything but enjoyment when it seems to be pressure we should walk away. Family is important. I am so happy you have found the balance.I love your photos. I am sure all who follow you will wait to read and see your beautiful blog. B

Heather - June 14, 2012 - 12:26 pm

Love your shots, natures beauty in all, the last shot is Gorgeous! Sometimes life gets us and takes us in and our blogs get lost. Been there! I will be watching for the themeless linky, exciting.

Raymonde - June 14, 2012 - 12:28 pm

Tanya - June 14, 2012 - 1:03 pm

oh beautiful pictures and true words. when we first moved her a few years ago, there was an old farmhouse that i’d pass every morning taking my little guys to school. it stood next to their school. i never got a picture of it and one day it was gone. there’s nothing there now and if you didn’t know that there once was a house there, you never would. i think about it still when i drive and try to see signs that it once existed!

Susan - June 14, 2012 - 1:21 pm

Your words are so heartfelt and true. Thank You for the reminder. Your pictures are beautiful. The last one stunning!

Hang in there; all we can do is take one day at a time. Sometimes we need to break that down too. And that is OK.

Brooke - June 14, 2012 - 5:28 pm

Ellie - June 14, 2012 - 7:44 pm

Your pictures are all beautiful but the last one of the tree is amazing.
Sometimes life gets in the way of things we like and want to do. I’m sure when your life settles down a wee bit you can get right back into your blogging. :))

Carol - June 14, 2012 - 10:11 pm

Your photography is awesome and it all seems to ‘right in your own area’ ~ love it when I find wonderful photos right in ‘front of my nose’ ~ thanks, ^_^ (A Creative Harbor)

Totally understand about the time element and blogging. I find myself having to cut back on my posts because I can’t keep up with commenting and visiting.

Lovely shots — so sorry about your green space being invaded.

Thank you for sharing at Rural Thursdays this week. xoxo

Patti, I cut down to
one post a week and
right now, it feels
perfect for me as I
am also in that crazy
phase of life…

I need to get on Instagram.
Seems like a lovely,
creative outlet that
doesn’t require the
same time commitment
as our blogs do!

Jessica Washburn - June 18, 2012 - 1:43 pm

Beautiful pics Patty. That field next to you seems dreamy. :) Things are pretty dead here in AZ…so hot this week. I miss you tons! Hope you are loving your summer with the kids, I know I am. I’ll call you this week to catch up. I like the plans you have with your blog. Hugs. Jess

Ruth @ Living Well Spending Less - June 25, 2012 - 2:57 pm

I’ve been a piss-poor excuse for a blogger lately too, Patty. LOVE that last shot–maybe I need to check out Instagram. I didn’t think it was available for Android, but you say yes? Will have to look into it. Doing my best to join you guys for the Odyssey! :-) xoxo miss you!

joann - July 4, 2012 - 4:30 am

Thauna - July 4, 2012 - 7:10 pm

They are all beautiful but I LOVE that last shot!! I totally relate to the bad blogger confession and I must admit I’ve been one too. I’m trying to rediscover my blog…I will defintely try to be back for your 1440 party. I am addicted to Instagram…I think I’ve documented my entire last 6 months there. ha! Following you now, yay!

Throwing A Tantrum Your Mother Approves Of

Oh, I know. You might be getting tired of these posts. Peaceful images of the lake, sun dancing on the water, silhouettes of mountains and people… These are the three months of our lives that we hold tight to during all the busyness that otherwise occupies our time. And it’s not even a full three […]

Linda Kittmer - June 5, 2012 - 12:58 pm

Incredible action shots! I love the silhouettes. I feel your pain. My son is home for a short time now and then off to law school in September. I still remember dropping him off for his first year of university, and yes, I cried. We’re so proud of them but it’s hard to see our little boys grow up into men.

Becky - June 6, 2012 - 12:30 am

Wow…he’s a cutie too!

ShannonP :-) - June 6, 2012 - 1:09 am

Hey there,
My daughter,Katie Savannah, attended NC Governor’s School last summer and had a ball every minute of it . Being in a think tank with others who were so invested in learning from really great faculty made for time well spent . She actually met her beau there and they are still dating long distance.

She now feels totally confident about starting college this fall after her “practice college”. It was also great practice for my heart .

Enjoy your three week visit !
