Enjoy your spring my friend. I’m writing this from under a blanket while autumn winds and rain whip around the house.
Such exquisite beauty!

We celebrated Lexi’s 13th birthday Saturday night with her good friend. It felt like a grown up party, with girls and boys, a DJ and dancing. Seems like just yesterday we were celebrating her birth for the very first time. I watched them giggle and laugh and dance around each other, and felt so grateful...

(and did you know that when you comment you can’t reply back or get to your blog? I don’t know if that changed when you beautified before , but thought you should know)
You’re right. You speak it and live it and she’ll learn it from you. Happy birthday to your girl.
Happy Birthday to a beautiful young lady!
Beautiful pictures and happy birthday to your daughter!
I’ve just started experiencing those feeling about my girls. My oldest is about to turn 6 and little by little I’m seeing the innocence go away.
Thanks for sharing this!
i think you are right, if you show it, they will learn it. happy birthday to your sweet girl!!
What a beautiful young lady! Happy birthday to her!
Calling by as another participant in Our World Tuesday, they grow up in a flash don’t they.
What a truly special time, and such a beautiful young lady, Patty!
My children are almost 23 and 24 now, so I know how tough these questions can be to answer, and just when you think you’ve answered them, there are new ones! I think as Moms, we just do the very best we can and learn with them, as they grow.
Thank you so very much for being a part of The Creative Exchange.
Have a wonderful day, and I will surely still see you here!
lisa.
What a beautiful young woman. 13- it happens so quickly doesn’t it??!! Looks like it was a great day!
These are beautiful photos of your daughter!
That first shot is exquisite! I love the colors and the light is gorgeous. Thank you for sharing!
Happy belated birthday to Lexie!
And to you Patty – speaking as the mum of a daughter a few years further down the track – just keep being the mother that you are. Honest, involved, trusting and open with your girl and she will continue to flourish.

Another sunset? he asked, all snarky. How many sunset pictures does one person need? {can one ever have too many sunsets?} * when the chaos and noise of life melt into the quiet of night; when busyness subsides and dreams take over; when the sun touches the horizon and the work of God, ever-changing, weaves...

No. Of course there can never be too many sunsets. Duh!
Oh how true. And this one is spectacular!!
Look at that – beautiful and peaceful!
Mmmm, and this is a particularly beautiful one!
Beautiful scene.
Regards and best wishes
not when they look like this!
I wholeheartedly agree, 100%! =) Absolutely beautiful! =)
No…one can never have too many sunsets…and this is a beautiful capture~
They are each one-of-a-kind and beautiful. I had planned on doing a 365 on sunrises and sunsets, but only got through mid-January, when we hit a gray spell. Thanks for sharing with Rural Thursday, Patty.
What a gorgeous photo!
What a beautiful sunset and no one cannot have too many pictures of them….
A gorgeous composition with the trees’ branches looking like lace against the sky.
I agree 100%!
I’m with you…one can never have too many sunsets, particularly sunsets such as this one! I take very few of them because I’m in a little town and those darned power lines, trees, and housetops get in the way! Mountains are a little too close, too. That’s why I’m really impressed with this one of yours!
Truer words have never been spoken…you can NEVER have too many sunsets. I love how you captured the reflection of the sun on the water and the soft colors. Purely magic! Thank you for sharing.
I agree, magical and you can never get enough. They are like snowflakes, never the same. This is beautiful!!
I never get tired of seeing them. This one is especially beautiful!
You can never have too may sunsets.
Beautiful shot, love it!
Mette
Beautifully put and totally agree!! Hope you and your family are enjoying getting re-charged this weekend. Thanks for sharing your beautiful pictures!
Patty, wow! Thanks for sharing this amazing site again. Such fabulous words, with empowering images, you’re still the best role model for any of us ’83 Monti-High Amiables :] Hope the Tennesse Tornados missed your township.
Beautifully said.. I totally agree! A sunset brings a certain peace and stillness to your soul. Never enough!!

{Emily’s breakfast tea at the Cascades Restaurant at Opryland Hotel, Blissdom Blogging Conference} One of the guest speakers at Blissdom was a young man from Uganda. He said, When I lived in Africa, I had nothing and appreciated everything. Now that I live here, I feel I have everything, and appreciate nothing. Emily lives in...

I’ll go visit now.
love the quote too!
What a joy to meet Emily and to spend the weekend with you both! xoxo
what a beautiful blog you have here. I love it, and your photos too. I so wanted to go to Blissdom, but wasn’t able to. I’m glad you had a great time!
I’m particularly moved by the speaker’s words. It’s quite an observation on his part.
Emily is so pretty! I’m glad you had a good time at the conference.
Loved meeting Emily – I can’t wait to get to know her better on her blog.
What a joy seeing you – you blessed my heart more than you know. Thank you!
xoxo

I pretty much attended just the photography sessions during the Blissdom conference, and maybe my favorite presenter was Me Ra Koh. Frankly, she was such a delightful speaker, she could have been speaking about laying bricks and I still would have chosen her as a favorite! When she spoke, her eye brows and her face...

OMG what beautiful photos!!! Mother Nature is amazing, isn’t she!
I would love to hear her speak. Your photos today are so beautiful. The water drops are definitely sparkling in the light. One thing I love about photography is how it has helped me to see the light better. I’m constantly judging the quality of light around me whether I have my camera with me or not!
These are beautiful!
beautiful photos!! I love how sharp the image is and you still have wonderful bokeh!! thanks for sharing!!
What a delight.
Each of these a glorious display of nature’s art.
What beautiful photographs these are, and how fortunate you were to be able to hear Me Ra Koh speak!
Thank you so very much for sharing with us at The Creative Exchange this week.
Have a wonderful day!
lisa.
Thanks for remind us of why there must be darkness. Your raindrops are besutiful! Me Ra Koh sounds like mi-ra-cle.
so true Patty…these are gorgeous by the way, as always!
so true patty…these are gorgeous photos!
Beautiful work. I love those sparkling water drops.
Love your photos and the raindrops!
Beautiful. I missed all of the photography sessions because I needed to be elsewhere, but would love to spend more time on that next time!
Steph
Looking at your photos gave me goosebumps and left me breathless. These are amazingly beautiful.
your eyes help remind me to look deeper and seek more. your spirit makes me want to be more.
A stunning commentary! And the art of your photography is amazing! I loved every shot! A wonderful post!
Beautiful detail and light, simply stunning! Love this – “You need to be in the darkness to see the light.” Thank you for sharing!
Wonderful photos.
Regards and best wishes
So true, especially in photography…we are always looking for the light! Beautiful captures of raindrops and the light that captures them on a dreary day.
These photos are breath taking! Truly. They are so beautiful, rich with wonder. When I read how much that part resonated with you, the part about the darkness illuminating where the light is, my heart was full. For to many years, I’ve tried to get rid of all the darkness. And when I saw this dynamic play into my photography, being solely focused on having “bright” images all the time, I realized I was missing the deep mystery of what makes the human spirit so resilient–so enduring. All my darkness, all my shadows, all your moments of fear and doubt, all our moments of feeling lost, all these things combined, define the light in our lives that much more. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this post with me. Thank you to all the people who have commented. It’s hard to talk about the darkness…since we were children we’ve been working on our fear of the dark…but now, I’m amazed at how much strength we carry. How that childhood fear transforms as we find more healing, more freedom from our shadows in life. And that we get to embrace all those shadows and together, we get to stand in awe of how beautiful and strong the light truly is, what we may have not fully realized before. Does that make sense?
Much, much love. And again, beautiful, enduring photos.
xo,
Me Ra
Wasn’t she amazing? You are so right about the time flying by. I never get enough time with her! Or with any of my favorite people (you!).
Not sure bd Canada is in the cards for me, but I am thinking about EVO!
