A Life of Adventure

So this was a sort of pilgrimage for you, then? Her words stuck with me for days. I suppose it had been, but not so much as a pilgrimage back as it had been a pilgrimage away. I had come to France twenty-five years earlier, as a student. I’m not quite sure now what had...

Photo a la {M}ode 19 :: Self-Portrait

So I started this link-up as a way of sharing what I’m learning as I dove into a year-long self-study in photography. I promised myself that even if NO ONE linked, I would continue. That’s commitment. {I’m pretty good at that!} Still, as I continue the link-up, I’ve been a little pitiful with the self-study...

Becky @ Farmgirl Paints - July 14, 2011 - 1:23 am

those were so good. too busy to practice…but one of these days i’m going to figure it all out. i just know it:)

joann - July 14, 2011 - 5:16 am

where’s your face?
I always love your pictures, and now I know for a fact that you have cute toes.

{grateful}

For me, it’s always crazy, always chaos, always movement. My children are young and involved; my husband is dedicated and driven. I am committed. So when something makes me stop, put down the balls I juggle, and breathe… and focus… and recognize beauty of all kinds… I am grateful. I am grateful for awkward, segmented...

These are all incredibly beautiful, Patty – each little detail. Your eyes are amazing, thanks for keeping them open and sharing wth the rest of us. :)

joann - July 10, 2010 - 5:19 pm

My son (who is two) just came in from mowing the lawn (With his daddy). He loves this post. You have a winner.
This reminds me that our children still now how to see the little things.

Cathy - July 10, 2010 - 11:24 pm

…and she tames dragonflies, too! SO cool, Patty. Can’t believe she stood still for you. I like photography for the same reason and I am grateful for others who “get it” (and get us)!

in the hush of the moon - July 11, 2010 - 5:11 am

you are so gifted. these photos are phenomenal.

Cate - July 14, 2010 - 1:54 am

Wow – you are amazing capturing so many beautiful shots!

diptych 4 {looking up!}

Cathy‘s is on the left;  mine is on the right. {Like my new boots??} ***** So this time, aside from the likeness in colors {her brown roof, my brown boots; the blue tarp and shirt, the blue sky}, I noticed the visual triangle created by the blue tarp, the blue shirt and the blue sky....

pam - May 20, 2010 - 12:42 pm

i see the triangles!!! love the two together…love the new boots…so sexy! xo

Jade @ Tasting Grace - May 20, 2010 - 3:59 pm

Ha! I love your new boots! I use the rule of thirds pretty much obsessively. I hadn’t heard of the rule of 3′s though…I also like to play with color complements (red/green, blue/orange, purple/yellow) to really make colors pop. I did that with this week’s You Capture challenge (http://jadekeller.com/2010/05/you-capture-depth-of-field/) in the shots of the roses and I often use it in my food photography.

Mrs. Dunbar - May 20, 2010 - 8:30 pm

Talkin like a real photographer when you use things like the rule of thirds. Thanks for the tip.

Kellee - May 20, 2010 - 10:19 pm

I’m all about the rule of 3rds.

I really like that image.

And wow, lady, check out those legs! Nice! :)

cathy - May 21, 2010 - 12:44 am

You’re so smart! {I mean, isn’t it grand that we pulled of the thirds thing?!} Serendipity!

Gayle - May 23, 2010 - 3:38 pm

Great boots and you’ve got great legs, too!

I’m a mess when I shoot! I sometimes try to follow the rule of thirds, but only sometimes.
